“Fostering the Couple Connection in the Transition to Parenthood”
Together with my colleague, Elly Taylor, author of Becoming Us, we will join forces to present a dynamic workshop that explores the relationship challenges that new parents face and the variety of ways in which we can enrich the relationship of the couple as they step over the threshold into parenthood. This experiential workshop will blend demonstrated energy medicine techniques, visualization tools and role play activities that the presenters use in private counseling and in The Birth Empowerment Workshop® couple’s retreat. These include creative art expression and energy healing exercises for nurturing the parental bond. The workshop will empower professionals to empower new parents.
The Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) is the premier organization examining the psychological dynamics of the perinatal period, and is now 30 years old. This is the 18th International Congress, from 14-17 November 2013, at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, California.
